Children love coming to Waunifor whether for a summer holiday, weekend break or just a visit. The history of the estate dates back hundreds of years and so generations of children have explored the nooks and crannies of the grounds, made dens in the rhododendron bushes, played poo sticks in the small stream and collected conkers and acorns from the majestic trees.
The play area is fenced off and can provide hours of fun with a large sandpit, swing and small slide. Your youngsters will thoroughly enjoy running around in the fresh air and discovering the many interesting features designed to delight children such as the willow tunnels, wig-wam, hazel bower with seated area and rope swing.. We are quite secluded and situated along a very quiet rural lane so safe from the hurly burly of a busy road or town but please remember to supervise them at all times.
On a sunny day you are likely to want to visit the beautiful unspoilt beaches of Cardigan Bay and enjoy building sandcastles, swimming in the sea and eating ice-creams from the local cafes. Most beaches have car parks, toilet facilities, shops and cafes very nearby and rarely get crowded even in the height of summer.
There are also many local attractions such as the Newquay Honey Farm, Felinwyt Rainforest Centre or Henllan Steam Railway. Experience handling owls and birds of prey at nearby Rhos, panning for gold at the Dolaucothi gold mines, discovering how our ancestors lived in Iron Age times at Castell Henllys. On a rainy day visit the West Wales Museum of Childhood or the National Woollen Museum or the chocolate factory near Carmarthen.
