We live in times of unprecedented changes that are affecting all areas of our lives and these changes appear to be accelerating. It is the case that these changes are so significant that they can be thought of in terms of epoch change. Anyone who sees this to be true then faces the question What will the new epoch hold? All of the sustainability issues that we see in the world today were created within and are part of the outgoing epoch. Many people can see that many of these issues are so complex that there appears to be little chance of finding solutions that will be meaningful. The fact of a new incoming epoch presents a new and major challenge. Rather than attempting to solve the unsolvable challenges of the outgoing epoch human energy and resources would be far better directed at finding out what will work in the incoming new epoch. The new epoch will be a more potent thing than the outgoing epoch. It will call for sentiments and qualities of behaviour that belong to the function and dignity of what it is to be human. This process will look at the evidence for epoch change and start asking questions about what it is that will sustain in the new epoch. Sun 5th September Finding the Future in Me If we want to see a more sustainable world, where should we start? Is it the case that the world we see today is the product of our individual and collective mind sets? If this proposition is true then clearly we need to start thinking about ourselves first and what sort of new mind sets will sustain in the future. By finding new mind sets and acting from these new mind sets in our daily lives we can each fundamentally influence our own futures. Fundamental questions about the purpose of human life have occupied the best human minds. For example what is it that each human life has the potential to sustain? If it is possible to approach this type of question, then making sense of how we can best arrange ourselves may become much easier. This process will look at ways in which we can best sustain ourselves and includes: What are the fundamental forces that sustain each human life? How can we look at the world and engage with it in a way that will lead to more sustainable outcomes? Firstly it is important to have frameworks of understanding that enable us to make sense of the world around us. We then need to be able think about what it is that will sustain in the future and then make it real by application. This event explores seven key alignments that will equip a person to engage with the future: 1.Gathering the pieces how do we look at the world and what do we see is happening?
